Someone's taken the time to examine the menus of several fast food restaurants and now there's a list of the 88 Fast Food Items Most Likely To Kill You. To provide some measure of objectivity, the ranking is based on grams of trans fats, as the recommended daily dose of these dudes is supposed to be zero.

Before you get that good ol' piece of chalk ready to mark a point for the vegan team, you might want to check the list: White Castle onion rings are at the top, and I don't know if they're vegan or not, but they've got 0 grams of cholesterol if that's any indicator. That's to make room for the 30 grams of trans fat, almost double the amount of the "next deadliest" item on the list.

As vegans, it's easy to be smug, but I suspect many of us have gotten so used to looking at the ingredients labels for animal ingredients that we've forgotten to check out the basic nutritional value of the processed foods we might be buying.

Oh, but of the 88 items in that list? Way more than half contain animal products. So nyah nyah just the same.
